Fiesta del Mar, March 17 and 18 2012, Taboga will showcase Taboga beach-life, nature and history for international tourists and visitors as well as for Panamanians!

Discover Taboga by hiking or taking a walking tour with a Tabogan Guide.

This weekend just past, 28 and 29th of January the new “Welcome to Taboga Booth” was inaugurated by island resident volunteers, and featured hiking tours, walking tours, and boat tours from $5 per person. Padrino of the Fiesta del Mar visited with the guides at our welcome booth site on Isla Taboga. Profits from the tours go to the island guides. Tours will be available by reservation during the week, and there will be scheduled tours on weekends. Best to let us know you are coming and to reserve in advance.

Sponsors still needed! Donations are tax deductbible. The Fiesta del Mar is a non-profit event under the administration of Fundacion Isla de Taboga, all profits will go to the Dame una Sonrisa Program for Dental Health of the islanders. Annually the Church of San Pedro on Taboga Island organizes the Semana Santa (Easter) events and activities. The whole community gets involved and they start with processions through the streets early in the week. Every year on Good Friday there is a reenactment in full costume and a procession through the streets.

Dear B&B Hotel Cerrito,

I want to thank you and your entire staff for the wonderful service you provided during our group visit to Cerrito Tropical Hotel on Isla Taboga. We found it to be a beautiful, peaceful and relaxing location with a spectacular view, the perfect place to close our pastors’ retreat activities last week.

I was really impressed with your hotel, your food, the friendliness and service orientation of your staff. Please give our personal thanks to Cynthia for giving us that very interesting tour around the island too! You really took good care of us and the rest of our guests and made us feel very comfortable.

I have had nothing but positive remarks from our colleagues, who were very pleased with how well serviced the facility was and the outstanding job from your staff. While it’s always nice to try something new, I don’t know why we would want to go anywhere else for our next pastoral retreat activity but B&B Hotel Cerrito on Isla Taboga. I think all our guests feel the same way.

We often get great reviews and today was one of them. Please read on. It reflected so well on our staff and beloved Taboga B&B Hotel in Panama that we wanted to share it. Sometimes we have people write to us with ways we can improve our B&B Hotel, and we appreciate that too because through their suggestions, we can make the Cerrito Tropical Taboga Panama experience better for the future.

I´ll do it again!
Why would anyone travel to Panama in Central America, have one of the best B & B experiences of their life, make wonderful friends with both staff and guests, and not do it again?
I cannot rave enough about this place or these people. I did not have one disappointment or bad experience the entire four days I was their guest. Wonderful, delicious meals made to order, atmosphere and view out of this world, attentive and concerned staff, what more could one ask for? I traveled to the island to get away for few days to work on a book I’m writing. Not only did I get an enormous amount of work done, but I had fun doing it. I love the inn, the island, and who wouldn’t be wild about the view. Special thanks to Lynn for all of her hard work.
And … yes! I’ll do it again!! Wayne….

Our last guests checked out from this week´s Destination Wedding Event at our B&B Hotel Cerrito Tropical on Taboga in Panama.

Taboga Island – Panama Festivals: San Pedro Day – June 29th, 2010
San Pedro Founder’s Day Festival, June 29. Celebrated with mass as well as a Boat Procession where local fishing boats are decorated and then parade around the island, followed by islanders´ festivities – this festival celebrates the first patron saint of Taboga and the namesake for the village. Please confirm the schedule that week with the Taboga Island Church (second oldest in the Americas) or municipal office.

Background: San Pedro is the Spanish name for Saint Peter. He was one of Twelve Apostles according to the Bible and was chosen by Jesus from his first disciples. He was a fisherman assigned a leadership role by Jesus and was with Jesus during events witnessed by only a few apostles.
